The director conducts a number of street interviews with prostitutes about their lives, and their costumers take a bashing out of this.Davy mixes documentary forms here (talking head interviews, street verite, historical document, docu-drama reenactment, personal anecdotes) as distinctly but as successfully as he did in Exhibitions earlier the same year. Unlike that film, anchored by its protagonist, the multiplicity of forms gel together far more loosely, resulting in an impressionistic overview of the title subject...and more importantly the women who do the work.
